You would make a great girlfriend/boyfriend and you know it. Your friends are always telling you that you are the best thing coming down the street.
So how come you are still single? Here are the top 8 reasons why most people have trouble finding or sustaining a romantic relationship:
1. Your Standards Are Too high.
It is great to have high standards. No one would like to start a relationship that he/she is not fond of and be stuck in a situation to regret. However, there is such a thing as having standards that are way too high and it makes ‘that person’ impossible to exist.
2. You Play Hard to Get.
Do you pretend to be busy when being asked out? Do you pretend not to care when you really do? Playing hard to get makes it hard to find your other half. It is always better to be authentic and show your true feelings.
3. You Are Too Busy Living Your Life.
You have many trips to take, many people to meet, many projects to tackle, and you have a goal to go to 30 countries before you turn 30. Your schedule is too packed and it makes yourself unavailable for someone else.
4. You Are Too In Love With Single Life.
While you want to have a boyfriend/girlfriend, you worry that having one will change the life you have well planned for yourself. When you think your life is already perfect, you are reluctant to bring someone else into the mix.
5. You Are Hung Up On An Ex.
Whether you are still seeing or dreaming about your ex, he/she has gone and leaves you nothing but an empty bed. Most of the times, someone you are dating will catch wind that you are still in love with your ex and will split before they move further.
6. You Stick with a ‘Situationship’.
Are you marooned in a zombie relationship? Not getting much out of it after months or even years but unable to end it? Breaking up can be hard, but you should take your first step out toward ending a bad relationship and move on to a new one.
7. You Fear that People Are Not As Into Commitment As You Are.
We live in a culture where hooking up seems to take precedence over serious relationships. Hooking up seems fun and one-night stands are a blast. You see it hard to find commitment in a sea of men who just are not into it.
8. You Fear Becoming Dependent.
Some people avoid committed relationships because they worry they will become dependent on their mate. In fact, we are all hard-wired to become dependent, and the trick is to find the right person to depend on and enjoy staying together.
